A striking vintage statement ring crafted in solid 18 karat yellow gold, showcasing a substantial natural turquoise cabochon with an exceptional spiderweb matrix in vivid shades of turquoise blue, soft green and warm earthy brown.
The generously proportioned oval cabochon measures approximately 20mm x 16mm x 5mm, with an estimated weight of approximately 7.8 carats. The stone is secured within a substantial four-claw setting above a wide tapering gold shank, creating a bold architectural silhouette characteristic of modernist jewellery design of the late 1960s and 1970s.
The turquoise displays beautiful natural colour variation and intricate matrix throughout, making each angle unique. The clean lines of the handcrafted gold mount allow the exceptional gemstone to remain the focal point while providing excellent balance and wearability.
The ring has an impressive vertical profile, measuring approximately 30mm from the centre of the turquoise cabochon to the base of the gold shank, giving it remarkable presence on the hand.
Marked 750 and independently tested as 18 karat gold.
