This statement jade carving of the pomegranate motif is rich in symbolism and blessings. Since antiquity, the pomegranate’s many seeds has made it a symbol of fertility and abundance. Beyond Chinese culture, it was also considered a magical fruit of beauty and eternal life in ancient Greek and Persian mythology.
In the hands of Dilys Young, Hong Kong’s esteemed jewellery designer, this phenomenal 189.37-carat lavender jade pomegranate carving becomes a collectable piece of wearable art. It is further adorned with 56 White Diamonds (totalling 0.44ct) and accents of Ruby, Emerald and Blue Sapphire. The amount of workmanship that goes into this rare, intricate carving and setting is inimitable. Certified by HKJSL*, the colour of this natural A-grade lavender jade piece is also extremely unique with its cotton candy pinkish purple hue, compared to the typical violet hues.
All in all, an extremely rare statement piece. This pendant also comes with a 18-inch leather cord necklace with 18K gold clasps. Style it with a simple outfit for a fresh and modern look, or with a more formal ensemble to complete the look.
This piece was set in Dilys’ in-house atelier in Hong Kong by the most skilled craftsmen, trained and attuned to the House of Dilys’ high standard for quality and wearability. It is signed with Dilys’. This piece is in excellent condition.

It’s mainly considered as a symbol of serenity, tranquility, and purity. It’s a stone that’s believed to bring in good luck, friendship, peace, and harmony. They also symbolize perfection because of their indestructibility.

TYPE OF JADEITE
Type A Jadeite – Natural form
We consider this as the only accepted form that jadeite should be. Type A natural jadeite means that the subject qualifies to be free of any form of chemical treatment. As part of the polishing process, coating the jadeite with colorless wax is accepted so long as it does not damage the crystalline structure of the subject. After fine polishing, the jadeite item is dipped in heated wax of liquid form and once cooled down it is buffed to give a smooth lustrous look much like the process of car waxing.
Type B Jadeite – Chemically treated and resin infused
Type B jadeite means that the subject has been soaked in acid which removes impurities or oxidation stains producing a “bleaching” effect. This process lightens the color of many materials including jadeite and leaves many holes or micro craters inside throughout the subject. Next, it is placed into a vacuum chamber where polymer resins are infused into it and after the final polish, the treated jadeite looks smooth and lustrous in color. Unfortunately, the appearance of Type B jadeite can change and deteriorate over time. The polymer resin can discolor and oxidize when exposed to heat and sunlight and turn yellowish.
