A fine antique Russian Imperial silver gilt & cloisonne enamel tea caddy spoon, Moscow, circa 1880. The shovel shaped spoon having a gilded ground, the handle and rear of the spoon is finely decorated with multicolored floral cloisonne, with jewel tone colors of blue, turquoise, ivory and red. The spoon stem having turned and gilded decoration, the spoon is stamped to the rear of the stem with the maker's marks, silver mark of 84 and the mark for Moscow. A fine & large antique maritime oil painting of the war ship HMS Britannia, by Robert Strickland Thomas (1787-1853), the painting circa 1835. The painting depicts HMS Britannia broadside with several other war ships of the British fleet, most likely returning from the Mediterranean. In the foreground are several small boats with sailors variously occupied attending to them. A yacht with a crowded deck is visible on the left. In the center foreground there is a barrel or possibly a buoy in the water, a device commonly employed in some of Thomas's paintings. To the verso is an old auction label from the 1920s and another partial label, there are also some annotations on the stretcher with details of photographic images of the painting. There is also an old label of ownership "Mrs. Strange 6 Elvaston Place", this address was a large Georgian house in the prestigious London borough of South Kensington. A large & important pair of rare antique 19th century Indian Polychromed & hand carved stone Dvarpala (temple door guard) statues, circa 1850. Each statue is hand carved as a male Hindu four armed temple guard, the guards holding a mace (Gada) and one hand on a dagger (Katar), another hand holding a lotus flower to represent spiritual enlightenment. Each guard stands crossed legged on a plinth decorated with an elephant, both statues retaining old and yet brightly colored polychromed decoration, the statues are approximately 3/4 lifesize. They are a true pair facing each other and would have flanked either side of the temple door entrance, they are large and very heavy, each figure weighs about 300lbs.
