Heavy hand cast iron "Ikebana flower" incised panel form lantern with distinctive "12 petal" top.
An attractive and sturdy antique lantern with a distinct eastern thematic "ikebana flower" motif carved into five firebox side panels. The startling sinewy plant motif strongly suggest Asian ikebana. The round tops were cleverly designed with 12 flower petals.
Fine original used garden condition with an attractive natural patina appropriate to age- just the way we like to find them.
Heavy quality capable of handling inclement weather conditions.

An attractive Chinese Heavenly green jade Bi disk with beautiful translucent "cloud bands" patterns of light and medium green horizontal accents in the stone that depict appealing movements.
This comes from our private collection which we formed over a period of twenty years while traveling extensively through out all of China.

Jades were handmade and hand abraided and hand polished using tools of the time: bamboo, stone, water and stone dust . Notice the considerable calcification on the bottom edge of this example- evidence of submersion and great age.

From 1955 she worked as a master designer at the Staatliche Majolika-Manufaktur Karlsruhe where she created and designed several hundred highly regarded ceramic folk art animal sculptures...
