5 LEAVES LA

Restaurant by Home Studios in Los Angeles, CA

Custom stained glass windows, sculpted plaster walls, and a dramatic curved ceiling bring to life the evocative interior of Five Leaves Los Angeles. The building’s 1920s Art Deco facade and prominent corner location in the buzzing Silver Lake neighborhood inspired an all-day cafe design that is fueled by the sunlight but acts as a beacon of energy and light in the evening. Burnt orange banquettes, faded blue and sienna plaster walls, and the building’s original geometric formed concrete floor anchor the space, while bespoke copper and milk-glass lighting lift the eye up towards the greenery-lined perimeter. The ceiling is articulated by two gentle half arches whose meeting point acts as a division between the bar room and the spacious dining room. A serpentine marble bar meanders between the two rooms and wraps around two dramatic back bars; one mirrored and the other open to a cozy adjacent seating nook that almost feels as if it’s part of the back bar itself. Custom elements include: copper, steel and milk glass pendants, sconces, and banquette lighting, blackened steel and mirror back bars, copper-lined terrazzo tabletops, blue and amber glass storefront, oak and leather tufted banquettes throughout.
