ROCHAMBEAU

Restaurant by Home Studios in Boston, MA

Rochambeau is a restaurant and cafe in the heart of Boston. Consisting of two bistros, daytime cafe, and large private dining room, the restaurant is a playful space where Art Deco meets the timeless Parisian bistro and its influence on American dining. Rochambeau’s bistros are boisterous, inviting spaces, while the cafe offers a quiet nook peppered with bulbous sconces and ceiling pendants. Under a vaulted and tiled ceiling on the first level lives a four-sided bar that echoes the fin de siecle elegance of iconic Paris metro entrances; around which a tiled floor curls around the room. Peach-glass mirrors in rounded frames deck the walls, deepening the depth and warm luminance of the space. On the second floor, after ascending a staircase with a custom painted mural, the space opens up to a room anchored with tiled columns next to majesty palms sprouting up between; through which one can see through to an open kitchen on one side, adjacent to a glass brick wall, luminous behind a secondary bar. Black-and-white patterns interplay with rich blues and lively oranges throughout Rochambeau, most prominent in the Louis Vuitton-inspired banquettes gently curving around the room. Custom items include: copper and nickel partitions, pink marble and glass votives, marble and copper tables, brass and nickel flush mount lights, blackened steel and nickel pendants and wall sconces, blue, orange, and pink vinyl and leather banquettes.
