Ryan Brown and Diego Monchamp of Brown Design Group drew on their love of the Hamptons to capture the look of East Coast meets West in this Dana Point home. They outfitted the home with down-filled sofas, tufted leather chairs, natural fabrics and nautical-inspired lanterns. They hunted shops and showrooms for both old-world antiques and modern art to create a delicate juxtaposition between old and new. Pieces were sourced from a variety of showrooms, including antique shops like Lucca and Lawson Fenning in Los Angeles. The pair weaved in touches of approachable luxury inside and outdoors, with vintage settees and an alfresco bar featuring woven rattan and teak bar stools in the backyard. They capitalized on the home’s expansive, glass accordion-style doors in the great room by setting up a wide kitchen table with access to ocean breezes. Upstairs, a rooftop deck offers 360-degree ocean views. The end result: approachable luxury graced with plenty of natural light.
