Brooks Brothers Flagship Store

Retail by Allan Greenberg Architect in Beverly Hills, CA

Sited at the entrance to Rodeo Drive’s famed shopping district, this new building was designed to relate to adjacent buildings, particularly the Museum of Television and Radio and the Polo store, and to take advantage of Los Angeles’s marvelous year-round climate through its exterior balconies covered with flowering vines.

Realized using a fast-track building schedule, the entire exterior was prefabricated into large panels of glass-fiber-reinforced concrete, which were bolted to the steel-frame structure. The exterior shell was completed in six weeks. The entire construction took only nine months.

The exterior design emphasizes the entrances on Rodeo Drive and Little Santa Monica Boulevard. The terraces, canopies of vines, large areas of glass, and modulated architecture distinguish this building from its neighbors on Rodeo Drive. The airy and open interior develops around the two-story center space with its glass dome and staircase.
