Coronado

This was an oceanfront new build on the San Diego peninsula of Coronado. I was inspired by the sea air, the sand and the bright light that comes with life on the beach, but I also wanted to keep the design classic and timeless. Think Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard mixed with a clean dose of California coastal. We used wood wall treatments – from board & batten to horizontal shiplap – and painted them a crispy white. Floors are pale, wide plank wood. The palette mixes pale grays, periwinkles and oatmeals with navy blue and hits of red and grassy green. Upholstered furniture pieces are comfortable and inviting, and we threw in tons of books, fine art and photography, and vintage accessories to make the house look lived in and loved.
