Litchfield Farmhouse

Marcia Tucker Interiors fully renovated and decorated this house in Litchfield County, CT. The house sits beautifully flanked by an original barn and an organic garden that provides produce for many of the top restaurants in Connecticut. Although much of the original 1700's house was preserved in its stunning original state, certain additions were made to create a more family-friendly home: a new sunroom and a screened in porch were added. For the interiors, the owners asked that, as much as possible, the furniture, fabrics, and fixtures be American-made, organic and/or sustainably made, and preferably locally sourced. Marcia honored this with clever choices: the fireplace surround in the kitchen is from local stone, much of the wood inside is reclaimed from a nearby barn, the Danby marble throughout is from Vermont, and many of the fabrics come from O Ecotextiles. The house now combines the charm of an antique house with the sophistication of a modern one.
