Waterfront House

Marcia Tucker was asked to decorate this new waterfront home in a sophisticated yet family-friendly style that was appropriate for young children, dogs, as well as business clients. To create an environment that was calming and didn't distract from the Long Island Sound views available from many of the rooms, Marcia selected quiet colors such as grays, lavenders, and beiges. The furniture in the formal spaces is elegant, not fussy, and each room has a nice mix of antiques and modern pieces. Throughout, textures play a big role with materials ranging from silk to textural linens to pony hair rugs- a skillful way to add visual interest without resorting to pattern and bright color.
