Louver House

Bachelor Pad by STUDIO SANTOS in Miami Beach, FL

Set in architect Rene Gonzalez's Louver House, Studio Santos created this eclectic, personal escape by mixing styles from the past 200 years which bear significance in this young executive's life.

This project is one of the few examples of indoor-outdoor living in Miami's notoriously harsh, humid climate. The protected terraces and perfected louvers of the building's facade provide the perfect setting for this warm, historic curation.

The space is anchored by iconic pieces from Ingo Maurer c.1972, to George Nakashima chairs c.1956, and Gilbert Marklund c. 1970.

In the eclectic office, Miami's melting pot is reflected in the curation of Charlotte Perriand's Petit Bureau en forme libre, seated with Arthur Umanoff's reverse cantilever chair for Thonet, and Sergio Rodrigues' Katita chairs re-editioned by Etel. This is all set on a cotton turkish kilim, provide tactile warmth and freshness. The eclectically curated cherry shelves provide a great deal of warmth, and the perfect video conference background.
