Marina Del Rey

Family Home by Laura Roberts Interiors in Marina Del Rey, CA

This remodel in Marina Del Rey designed by Laura Roberts Interiors, consisted of a variety of smaller projects that created a huge change in the overall look and feel of the home. As our clients were spending more time home everyday working remotely and staring at their interiors due to Covid-19, they started to notice all the aspects in each room that needed upgrades. By implementing new details and changes all throughout the interior and exterior, LRI helped make a huge difference in our clients' enjoyment of their home. Starting with the entry, new floor tile created a better aesthetic flow with the rest of the house. A dated fireplace in the living room became a stunning contemporary focal point with Bianco Lasa white marble. The kitchen received a full cosmetic remodel with new countertops, cabinet color, cabinet hardware, and chic new black matte plumbing from Kohler. One of the biggest transformations occurred in the family room adjacent to the kitchen. In the most utilized room of the home, LRI solved one of the family’s biggest dilemmas; a congested area with poor storage and no dual functionality. The client’s dated built-in cabinets which made the room feel tiny and offered no practical function, were replaced with custom 16' floating white oak shelves with LED lighting. A custom floating desk was also included to give the house the extra work space it needed. A new sectional sofa from Flexform and coffee table / ottoman from Molteni And Ci rounded out the new functional and contemporary design. A few spaces needed a bigger upgrade than others. The former guest bathroom was completely gutted and renovated to create an updated and modern bathroom. This included Kohler plumbing fixtures and sharp, bold accessories from CB2. Sconces from Kelly Wearstler for Circa Lighting and a beautiful oval mirror from Regina Andrews complement the custom floating vanity and complete the aesthetic.
