South End Brownstone

The goal was to take this recently developed townhome, and create a calm retreat that paid homage to the historic charm of the South End. Most importantly, it needed to be a reflection of the clients’ design-forward sensibilities. After finalizing floorplans throughout, we sourced all furniture, lighting, rugs and wallpaper. To maximize storage and functionality and add architectural interest, we designed custom built-ins to span the full length of the Parlor Level - these transformed a portion of the front entry into a dedicated mudroom space, added a desk area, and also provided floor-to-ceiling bookshelves to flank the fireplace. On the Garden Level, we designed new built-ins for the bar nook, and proposed a remodel of the powder room - adding in unlacquered brass fixtures, a custom marble sink and venetian plaster on the walls.
