Tribeca Loft

Family Home by 2Michaels in New York, NY

Housed in one of Tribeca’s premier iconic landmarked buildings, this 3,500 square foot loft was gut renovated and carefully reimagined by 2Michaels. The custom kitchen was designed for a growing family with hand crafted butternut cabinets and stone counter tops. Floor to ceiling bookshelves were made from solid Douglas fir, one bookcase serves as a screen divider between the study and living area. Walnut closets line the hallways, detailed with compartments for every member of the family.

2Michaels selected 20th century pieces such as George Nakashima, Frank Lloyd Wright, Charles Dudouyt and Le Corbusier. Pairing them with custom made sofas, an 18th century English dining table and leather woven chairs from Abel Sorenson 1940's. Vintage lighting from Belgium and France enhance the architectural elements. A double set of horsehair window shades provide both translucency and privacy in the living room. Vintage tribal rugs and soft fabrics add texture and warmth throughout the space.
