Union Wharf
Family Home by Liz Caan & Co. in Boston, MA
Originally one of the major trade ports in Boston in the mid-19th century, Union Wharf was later developed as a series of brick post and beam townhouses on the waterfront. We helped this young family with a boat, one small child, and one on the way, reconfigure this three-story unit to be just as efficient as a houseboat. After taking the entire structure down to the studs, we designed this home to utilize every square inch. Paneled walls optimize and disguise hidden storage while living spaces promote flexibility. Classic moldings and finishes will allow this port-side home to age gracefully.
