Swingin Hammer (blown glass nail tool table top found object sculpture Chihuly)

By Robert Burch

Located in Quebec, Quebec

A piece capturing the movement we all know from working with hammers. This piece is created with found objects and blown glass to capture this moment in time. The hammers and nails vary from piece to piece but the movement is always the same. Robert Burch began working with glass in Atlanta, Georgia while still in high school. After graduating, he worked for the Japanese glassblower, Tadashi Torii for two years. Shortly after, he attended Pilchuck Glass School before deciding to make the jump to the mecca of glass working, Seattle, Washington. It was there that Burch had the honor of working with the renown American glass artist, Martin Blank. In the span of five years, Burch learned many aspects of glass artistry as he worked for Blank. Subsequently, the team collaborated on color design teams for the glass empire company Chihuly Inc. During all these glass adventures, he never stopped shooting photos...

By Layne Rowe

Located in Manchester, GB

Layne Rowe, Rainbow Grenade, 2023 Hot sculpted glass cut polished and assembled with solid gold daisy H14 x W7.5 x D6.5 cm Original artwork Unsigned A seductive and vulnerable material, glass translates a potentially harmful object into a beautifully fragile art form. This piece advocates an alternative to the anger and conflict that fills our world. The stylised weapon has been hand-sculpted with precision to acknowledge the craft of weaponry. The piece’s accuracy has been achieved by creating hot-formed elements blown and sculpted as close to the required shape and size as possible, then cold worked with stone wheels and diamond tools...

'Red Karo Sphere' original hand-blown glass signed by Ioan Nemtoi

By Ioan Nemtoi

Located in Milwaukee, WI

Ioan Nemtoi's 'Red Karo Sphere' could easily become a centerpiece of any space or of any collection of glass art. The large oval form of the vase and the bright red color has a commanding presence. In addition, the artist's use of a grid-like pattern in the vase is striking, while regions of green and yellow remind of gestural Abstract Expressionist painting. 16 x 15 x 15 inches Signed 'Nemtoi' along the base Ioan Nemtoi was born in 1964 on a farm in Trusesti near Dorohoi, in North-Eastern Romania, as the eldest son of a large family. When Nemtoi was in the fifth grade, one of his teachers noticed his artistic talent and sent him to art school. Later he went on to the art branch...
