BRICCOLE STUDY 1 – VENICE, ITALY – GERALD BERGHAMMER
This minimalist colour fine art photograph by Austrian photographer Gerald Berghammer captures a solitary navigation marker rising from the calm waters of the Venetian Lagoon in Venice, Veneto, Italy, surrounded by traditional wooden briccole and a distant landing structure. The central post forms a striking vertical focal point against the softly fading horizon, creating an expansive and almost weightless Venetian seascape.
A long exposure transforms the lagoon into a smooth, luminous surface and reduces the scene to subtle shades of pale green, grey and white. Delicate reflections, generous negative space and the restrained colour palette emphasise stillness, balance and spatial depth, while the misty atmosphere gives the composition a quiet, timeless character.
Combining the distinctive maritime landscape of Venice with traditional Venetian briccole, minimalist composition and refined long-exposure photography, this contemporary fine art photograph is particularly suited to modern, minimalist and Scandinavian interiors. It creates an elegant focal point in living spaces, offices, hotels or galleries and will appeal to collectors of Venice photography...
