Artist Biography: Ricardo Pascale was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1942. He started his training in visual arts at the age of 13. His instructor, Elsa Caraf led him in his first use of the techniques. He soon discovered oil and watercolor painting. From then onwards, his life would go along two, apparently diverse but intrinsically close, activity paths: visual arts and the academic world, which would continue to intertwine in his activities until the present. In 1966 he graduated at the University of the Republic in Uruguay, in Economics and Administration1. With the return of the country to democracy in 1985 he was appointed president of the Central Bank of Uruguay, developing another essential aspect of his vocation: public service.
