Boy & Girl, Ciril, Acrylic, high quality cotton fiver on canvas, Brown"In Stock"
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
CF John - Untitled - 24 x 24 inches (unframed size) Ciril Acrylic and high quality cotton fiver on canvas Inclusive of shipment in ready to hang form. Style : C.F. John’s subject brings together the balance of lines and planes, as well as of the rational and emotional in human existence. The results are astonishing – moments of unusual physical calm and motion arrested on the canvas. C.F John is uses his artworks to spread awareness about sensitive issues that affect the society in general. C.F John has also developed an innovative style of adding natural fibres on his canvases.John’s artwork is not easy. It is a continual challenge both to himself and the viewer. Like all else, he sees art as a fluid space which transcends ideologies, and is freed from ‘endless imitation’ of current thoughts in circulation. His deep faith in the earth and its ability to renew itself gives his art an edge that constantly defies definitions, categories and labels. In communion with the natural world, his art remains fresh and alive. About the Artist and his work : Born : 1960, Kerala. Education : • Initiations in Art under Jyothi Sahi at Silvepura, Bangalore. • Disciple of Anthony Devasy of Kalakendra, Thrissur . Recessed Discussion Stream - Contemporary, 21st Century, Sculpture, Sculpture
By Liam Gillick
Located in Zug, CH
Liam Gillick, Recessed Discussion Stream Plexiglas and MDF Edition of 30 12 x 50.1 x 20 cm (4.7 x 19.7 x 7.9 in) Signed and numbered on Certificate of Authenticity In mint condition, as acquired from the publisher PLEASE NOTE: Edition numbers could vary from the one shown in the pictures. The pictures shown are only for illustrative reasons, the piece is offered unframed. Gillick’s work exposes the dysfunctional aspects of a modernist legacy in terms of abstraction and architecture when framed within a globalized, neo-liberal consensus. His work extends into structural rethinking of the exhibition as a form. He deploys multiple forms to expose the new ideological control systems that emerged at the beginning of the 1990s. "By making the abstract concrete, art no longer retains any abstract quality, it merely announces a constant striving for a state of abstraction and in turn produces more abstraction to pursue." -Liam Gillick Gillick’s work has had a profound impact on a contemporary understanding of how art and architecture influence, and are themselves influenced by, interpersonal communication and interactions in the public sphere. This colorful Plexiglas...
