By Alea Pinar Du Pre

Located in Los Angeles, CA

Alea Pinar Du Pre's original mixed media artworks portray human figures in a graphic pop-realist style. An enterprising autodidact merging technology and fine art, her vibrant contemporary pop-figurative artworks colorfully explore the territory between human reality and artificial reality. Her paintings portray the fact that our perceptions of solid reality are deceptively virtual. This unique collage is a part of her "Snapshot" series, as she explains: "We consist of the same atoms, created billions of years ago in a supernova. And here we are living and breathing and experiencing life, and we think we are all so different. I think we are all the same, it’s just that are masks and poses are different. I love humanity and this game we are playing. With snapshot, I am trying to capture the unawareness of the fact that we are the greatest wonder of the universe". This one-of-a-kind 47 inch high by 62 inch wide artwork depicts the portrait of a female figure. Pinar Du Pre's fusion of materials - acrylics, printed elements, and layers of gilt captured under an epoxy lens - represents the layered reality she aims to depict. The sides of this canvas are painted as a continuation of the front and it does not require framing. Pinar Du Pre has signed, titled, and dated this original artwork on the back of the canvas. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Building on the synthetic intensity of digital art, her figurative style depicts a familiar but warped daily life. Alea Pinar Du Pre has been influenced deeply by the traditional fine art and design practices of Kunstlerhaus and Wiener Werkstaette, two artist societies with roots in Vienna, Austria. Paying tribute to her main influences, Alea describes her style as "Jugendstil Pop-Art". But where Pop art was stimulated by the iconography of materialism and the mass culture of its time, her vision is more intimate in its subversive intent. Alea Pinar Du Pre lives and works in Vienna, Austria. Her artworks are exhibited and collected in international hot spots across Europe, Asia, and North America. The artist states of her work: "My endless questioning the nature of our existence stems from an insatiable curiosity and an unfathomable love for truth. I believe in the sacredness of the human experience. Art is a canvas to mutate my curiosity into a form I can share—to transfer scientific curiosity into pictures—to give form to the formless.” Artplex Gallery has been representing and exhibiting Alea Pinar Du Pre's original artworks in Los Angeles since 2018, presenting her impressive works to an international collector base around the globe. The gallery has been a 1stdibs partner since 2014 with consistently excellent reviews from clients worldwide. The Flowers of the Street of Spirits

By Gail Norfleet

Located in Dallas, TX

Artist Statement: How many ways can I depict a flower? I can draw it, paint it, and photograph it. Then I can manipulate those images on a printer. I can enlarge it. Make it smaller. Make the negative. Make the positive. Change the color. My mornings in Santa Fe start with a walk around the garden to see what has bloomed overnight. Two summers ago, I rented an adobe guest house that is surrounded by Hollyhocks, Roses, Poppies, and Yellow Thistles. The flowers have crept into my vision. The first summer, I painted the flowers using oil on canvas. The second summer I became more experimental, combining drawing, photography, and painting. Mixing the media all in one artwork, I abandoned canvas for transparent Lucite panels. The new works are essentially mixed media collage applied to Lucite. Working on front and back, layered to see through to the next. Creating a real space with real shadows but in an ambiguous world. The flowers are dense but there is an identity and clear shape of each. These works are labor intensive, requiring precise cutting of the paper and careful application. In "The Flowers of the Street of Spirits," black Hollyhocks stand tall with turquoise Firewheels and magenta Coneflowers. Real and unreal. Cut paper and paint come together in a surreal garden...

Street Life - Colorful Landscape Original Painting on Paper

By Fabio Coruzzi

Located in Los Angeles, CA

Italian artist Fabio Coruzzi merges painting and photography into one imaginative image that offers a new outlook on an otherwise ordinary urban scene. His artworks represent an authenticity unlike any other: layered, textural, controversial, open to imagination, colorful, personal, and inspiring. Coruzzi’s work encapsulates not only urban environments, but the inhabitants as well. Irony is laced between figures drawn with an energetic architectural hand. His work is colorful, funny, and biting through resolutely rendered vignettes of people and places. Coruzzi used acrylic paint and spray paint to create this one-of-a-kind original artwork on paper. This colorful 16-inch high by 20-inch wide artwork is framed in a white wood frame. Size and price include frame. This artwork is signed on the front. Convenient local Los Angeles shipping. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping also available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Fabio Coruzzi was born in Foggia, Italy in 1975, and now resides in Southern California, USA. Remarking on his work in conjunction with his perspective on urban environments, Fabio states: "I wish that each painting I make should be like a poem of the place where I've been. I wish to become a poet of our time, like somebody would tell: "I've been there", but telling that my way, telling the audience that, no matter where we are, in a boulevard or in a restaurant, each single place is like an empty box that needs to be filled with the intense energy of our existence. Each place leaves a mark, like a scar, inside us. I wish that scar becomes poetry." Winner of the 2021 ENEGANART Prize, Coruzzi's work has been widely collected and exhibited internationally, with great acclaim for his faithfully candid approach to city life and human idiosyncrasy: "It’s a melting pot of different gestures, different perspectives. Mixed media mold together these different perspectives, creating the urban environment. Contemporary culture is made of controversy: modernity includes ugliness, imperfection, and contamination, anything that creates texture." Located in Lake Worth Beach, FL

Winter Killed Five Paths, 1983 Mixed Media Abstract, signed and title on revers. No frame needed for this work at the top is attached to plank of wood and ready to be hang, it will be rolled up for shipping. Terence La Noue was born in Hammond, Indiana in 1941. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1964. After going to Berlin as a Fulbright Meister Student at Hochscule fur Bildende Kunste in 1964-65 he went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts degree from Cornell University. In addition to the Fulbright Foundation fellowship, La Noue has twice received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation. He has had extensive teaching experience at Trinity College 1967-72, the City University of New York 1972-85 and at New York University in 1987. He lives between Arizona, Paris, France and Vermont. Terence La Noue, who has created powerful, compelling paintings for the last four decades, is considered one of the outstanding talents of 20th century American abstract art. Layering canvas, fabric, gauze, acrylic paint and cast elements forming a lively melding of many different materials, symbols and colors to create tapestry-like paintings, he conjures up colorfully rich abstractions that reveal a sense of myth, magic and mystery. His extensive world travels serve as inspiration for works that are abstract mixtures of Western and non-Western traditions and histories. India, South America, Morocco, Mexico and Nepal have been favorite destinations. Terence La Noue’s unique approach to painting and printmaking has achieved worldwide recognition. Beginning in Berlin in 1965 he has had over a hundred and thirty acclaimed solo exhibitions in London, Paris, Tehran, Stockholm, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Cologne, New York, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Palm Beach, Dallas, Atlanta, Tucson and Scottsdale. His work is represented in the permanent collections of major museums including: The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum of Art, The Corcoran Gallery, The Guggenheim Museum, The Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, New York, The Tate Modern in London in Japan, Singapore, France and Australia including the Center for Contemporary Art, Kitakyushu, Japan, the Power Institute of Fine Arts, Sydney, Australia, The Musee d'Art et Archeologie, Paris, France. Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington D.C., United States Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York, United States National Gallery of Australia, Sidney, Australia Addison Gallery of American Art, Phillips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts United States Embassy, Beijing, China His work is also included in numerous university and city art museums throughout the US as well as major corporate collections. Terence la Noue worked extensively at Tyler Graphics from 1987 to 1993 and is represented in the National Gallery’s Kenneth Tyler Collection by a large body of work made in 1987 and 1991. La Noue’s work is characterized by an intensive layering process, which was well accommodated by the Tyler workshop. The artist found that through collaboration with Ken Tyler...

Lost Years 1 - 21st Century, Contemporary, Figurative, Restoration, Mixed Media

By Paul Ayihawu

Located in Ibadan, Oyo

In 2020, amidst the lockdown's intensity, my art journey ignited professionally. With ample time to delve deep, I explored figurative painting and abstract drawings until early 2022. I created a different series of paintings, one standout series, "Black, Bold, and Beautiful," celebrated the radiant essence of black women through six vibrant portraits clad in Ankara suits. While one found a home with a collector in Tel Aviv, the rest lingered in my studio. Two years on, a spark ignites within me to revisit this series, infusing it with the evolved narrative that aligns and fits into the conversation my works now engage in as a Contemporary Gospeller. The notions of “Restoration and restitution” weigh heavily in my heart, reflecting on personal and global scales. While global discourse focuses on returning stolen artefacts from Africa back to their origins, my perspective delves deeper into the restoration of lost time and purpose. My point of view on Restoration and Restitution is from this notion that man can lose years of his life in futility, and when the time of profit comes, it occurs mostly at the brink of life. A profound scripture, "I'll restore the years that the locust has eaten," resonates deeply, offering a beacon of hope amidst perceived futility. When I read this verse, it distinctly jumped out at me. Wow! Years can be restored! There is hope! To make this revisiting more contextual, I look out for material which can be regarded as “used-up”, “less-value”, or “wasted” - then it appears to me that Jute sack fits into this context! The Jute sack stands for the lost years of glory, having exchanged hands from one country to another before ending up in my studio to take a new life, different from what it has been used for. Thus, the series finds renewal through the symbolism of jute bags...

California Native Glitch - Textural Large Original Painting

By Kate Tova

Located in Los Angeles, CA

Vibrant, large-scale multimedia artworks incorporate reflective mediums and thick textures in Kate Tova's recent work. Colors splash across the page melding into flourishes of sequins, rhinestones, and glitter. The natural beauty of her subjects is juxtaposed against the "engine of technology" inspiring personal and innovative compositions. Surreal and vibrant, Tova's work thematically and stylistically layers her life experiences. This 37-inch high by 72-inch artwork is a hand-embellished giclee on canvas. Hand-embellishment involves the application of additional paint or other materials onto the surface of the giclee print by the artist. By adding these personalized touches, the hand-embellished giclee becomes a one-of-a-kind piece. The artwork is signed by the artist on the front and the back. Free local Los Angeles delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included with this unique work. Bringing forth inspiration from her varied experiences Tova is inspired by the layers of her life's experiences. From the lavishly gilded architecture of her early years to the vibrant palette of New Orleans, Tova now works in San Fransisco where themes of her work draw from technology and the Information Era. Kate has earned awards and critical acclaim participating in art exhibitions in Vienna, Berlin, New York, Prague and other cities around the world. Tova’s commissions have ranged from ceiling and wall murals in Moscow restaurants to live painting performances at fundraisers and venues such as the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. Her art has appeared on the covers of foreign music records, been published in international magazines, and even inspired a jewelry collection. By Jonas Fisch

Located in Los Angeles, CA

Swedish artist Jonas Fisch’s imagery is vibrantly buzzing with colorful commentary on society - past and present - morphed into figures, words, and shapes. His heavily layered canvases are the foundations of a new visual dialogue. Fisch paints with a jazz-like spontaneity, expressing personal emotions, commenting on contemporary society, and exploring old mythologies. Formulating a galaxy of the unknown, Fisch’s textural paintings flood the mind with possibility. His process is instinctive and organic, the paintings energetic and vibrant, emerging from his subconscious without judgment. They are constructed by feelings trying to find harmony. Endless figures, messages, layers, and symbols move in and out of focus as the eye explores his puzzle pieces with varied solutions. Jonas Fisch created this one-of-a-kind colorful 50-inch tall by 55-inch wide painting with mixed media. acrylic, and oil stick on canvas. This artwork is stretched and is ready to hang. This artwork does not require framing. It is signed by the artist on the back of the painting. Free delivery is available for those in the local Los Angeles area, and affordable worldwide shipping is available for US and international art collectors. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included with the artwork, ensuring that the piece is an authentic work of art from Jonas Fisch. Born in a small fisherman's village in southern Sweden, contemporary artist Jonas Fisch discovered his love for drawing and painting at a young age and was inspired to pursue his passion by renowned artist and grandmother Ann-Marie Sjögren. Fisch reflects, “As a fundamentally introspective person, I have an explosive need to express and communicate my innermost rays, reflections, and shadows. The canvas, the brush, and the paint allow me to act out, throw up, confront, and examine those innermost feelings. Painting becomes my outlet. At a certain moment, each shape, stroke, and color suddenly takes over and the painting reveals itself. It becomes an expressive personal collaboration of art." Fisch's artworks have been exhibited across the United States, Switzerland, and Hong Kong. His paintings can be found in private collections worldwide. By Randy Morales

Located in Los Angeles, CA

Creative Vice, the artist moniker of US Navy veteran Randy Morales, interprets nostalgic culture in his personal view of growing up in the 90’s. No pop can be any nostalgic time period with pop culture, but his focus would be on his simplistic childhood. Similar to his childhood the art is simplistic, not overloaded with text and other images, just straight to the point, with an almost rudimentary child art complex. Each piece is accompanied by his trademark equivocal face. The equivocal face represents that just because the piece is nostalgic it doesn’t mean happy times. It could bring back memories of your troubled youth or life-changing moments you had as a kid. Overall his artwork caters to the younger generation who are getting in touch with their younger self at that moment In their life where they can start to afford finer things as well as the other consumers who spent time with their kids...

Magical Gold - Large Abstract Deep Yellow Orange Gold Painting

By Clara Berta

Located in Los Angeles, CA

Clara Berta’s acrylic and mixed-media paintings blend texture and color to create harmony, mystery, and depth on the painted surface. Her paintings transform spaces into Zen environments where one can quiet a cluttered mind and enjoy beauty every day. Clara Berta’s paintings explore themes such as the ebb and flow of memory, the significance of personal heritage, the passing of physical time, desire, grief, and love. This artwork measures 36 inches high by 60 inches wide. The sides of this original abstract artwork are painted white. It is stretched, wired, and ready to hang. It may be installed vertically or horizontally. It is signed and titled by the artist on the back. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Clara Berta explores the collision between the old and new; destruction and rebuilding lives. She began painting as an outlet of grief; creating something beautiful as the result of loss. Through her creative practice, she has found healing and further offers to her community safe spaces for troubled teens and women to heal through the meditative process of painting. Her artworks are a language, a push forward in new directions and achievements, while always inspired by history. Berta mixes minimalism with underlying texture and embraces modernism while compiling the odds and ends of her attempts to let her art speak for itself. Her abstract works often include reminders of her travels expressed in unexpected sequences of patterns as well as distortion of perspectives and subconscious spaces. Manipulating the texture with several layers of texture paste and acrylic paint, she will work and re-work her canvases, layering textures to give added dimension, and creating works that intrigue and invite the viewer to explore not only the surface but also the inner language of the painting. A passionate, award-winning artist of Hungarian heritage, Clara Berta's dynamic and highly textural abstract works have been exhibited and collected worldwide.
