Geometric Abstraction Oil Painting on Masonite by Juliette Steele, Framed
By Juliette Steele
Located in Encino, CA
Untitled Geometric Abstraction, an original oil on masonite by Juliette Steele, is a piece for the true collector. Steele's use of color and patterns immediately captivates the viewer, reminding us of works by other pioneer abstractionists, such as Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky. Steele's puzzle-like, discontinuous sections draw you across and into the work. This masterful original artwork comes with a minimalist frame and would make a great addition to an art collection, enhancing most any home, and perfect for those who have an affinity for abstracts, contemporary paintings, and color-rich works of art. A decade later, she moved to San Francisco with husband Edward Steele, and earned a Bachelor of Art degree from San Francisco State College. In the 1940s, Steele found inspiration from the new city, and produced a series of lithographs depicting San Francisco landmarks. CANDELABRUM I
By John-Paul Philippe
Located in Tulsa, OK
The John Paul Philippe (Jean-Paul Philippe) Candelabrum I is a black minimalist contemporary sculpture piece made of steel and wax that measures 15 x 6 and is priced at $900. Artist Statement I approach every architectural, landscape and interiors project as a site-specific installation, where I synthesize the atmosphere of the location with the practical needs for the space. For the last ten years I have adapted my style of painting to a long list of architectural and sculptural projects around the world. With each new location I try to apply my art in ways that organically unifies and enhances the space. I work with a wide array of materials, often steel and wood, sometimes paper, glass and plastics. I am accustomed to working, from start to finish, alongside construction crews and architects to make sure the installation process is coherent with the intent of the artwork. All of my designs begin as drawings. Even if I am about to create a three-story structure of glass and steel, I begin as though I were making a painting. The organic forms in my paintings stem from my connection and response to landscape. Even my most abstract works are reactions to my surroundings and retain visual clues to inform the viewer. In all my work I strive to blend the familiar with the abstract in effort to create a lasting impression on the viewer.
