Rafael Durán Benet was a Catalan painter born in Terrassa who developed much of his artistic career in Barcelona.
Specializing in urban landscapes and Mediterranean coastal scenes, Durán created numerous views of Barcelona’s harbor and the Catalan coastline. His work reflects a strong impressionist influence, focusing on the capture of light, atmosphere and reflections on water.
Through a fluid brushstroke and a vibrant palette, he developed a recognizable style centered on the visual poetry of Mediterranean maritime life.
