The Language of Flowers and Silent Things — horizontal
Located in Burlingame, CA
The Language of Flowers and Silent Things — in four parts with luminous oil on linen. Each panel is 25 1/2 x 19 1/2 inches. Hanging the four paintings in a row with 1 inch between each canvas, the overall dimension is 25 1/2 x 81 inches. Drama and depth at play in this sophisticated painting in aubergine and plum on natural raw Belgian linen. Thin layers of oil paint, create a shimmering and provocative work that shimmers and changes with the light of day and differing seasons. French American Frédéric Choisel, is inspired by the cities and countrysides of France, New York, and California's Bay Area. Like Gerhard Richter, with a background in hyperrealism and shift into abstraction, Choisel is taking us — the viewers of his work — along with him on a visceral journey. Beautiful, rich, highest quality materials used throughout. Artist signed, titled and dated verso. Condition excellent. The four paintings can hang in a quad as pictured or four in a row...

"Sanctuary" Impressionist Realism Landscape Oil on Linen
Located in Carmel, CA
"Sanctuary," a 16" x 28" oil on linen creation by Israeli artist Uri Blayer, is a serene portrayal of rustic tranquility set against a lush mountainous backdrop. In this piece, Blayer employs a palette dominated by earthy greens, rich browns, and soft greys, evoking the natural harmony of the rural landscape. The painting’s composition leads the viewer’s gaze across a verdant field to the quaint cottage, a splash of blue on its roof adding a gentle contrast to the surrounding neutral tones. The artwork radiates a calming, almost nostalgic emotion, reminiscent of a quiet life, undisturbed by the bustle of modernity. Blayer’s brushwork combines precision with a gentle looseness that gives "The Little Cottage" a dreamlike quality, inviting one to step into its peaceful world. About the Artist: Uri Blayer is an alumnus of the Telma-Yalin Art School in Israel and furthered his artistic education at Brooklyn College and the Art Students League in New York City. His creative expressions have been displayed in numerous distinguished group shows across the United States and Israel. His pieces are a staple in various private collections, as well as corporate and public entities. In Hawaii, his work graces the walls of the Bank of Hawaii, is featured at the Hawaii State Museum, and is part of the collection of the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. His artistic prowess has been acknowledged with multiple accolades, including a recent grant from the prestigious Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation. For three consecutive years, he has been a selected exhibitor at the Honolulu Academy of Arts Showcase, a testament to his standing among Hawaii's top 100 artists. Notably, Uri's art has garnered critical acclaim in esteemed publications such as The New York Times, The New York Sun, and The Jerusalem Post. Original, 1-of-1. Represented by the American Art Gallery, Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Keywords: impressionist, realism...

Located in London, GB
Siamese Cat with Kittens by Orovida Pissarro (1893-1968) Egg tempera on linen 39 x 48 cm (15³/₈ x 18⁷/₈ inches) Signed lower right Orovida and dated lower left 1934 Provenance J Ankri, 8th October 1967 Literature K L Erickson, Orovida Pissarro: Painter and Print-Maker with A Catalogue Raisonné of Paintings, (doctoral thesis), Oxford, 1992, Appendices, no. 51, p. 56 (illustrated) Exhibition London, The Leicester Galleries, Paintings by Orovida, February 1935, no. 6 Women’s International Art Club, 20th February - 13th March 1937, no. 273 London, Redfern Gallery, Ten Years of Work by Orovida, 5th-28th May 1938, no. 7 London, The Royal Society of British Artists, Summer Exhibition, 1947, no. 281 (possibly the etching) London, O’Hana Gallery, Paintings, Drawings and Coloured Etchings: Orovida, 3rd-18th October 1957, no. 13 Artist biography Orovida Camille Pissarro, Lucien and Esther Pissarro’s only child, was the first woman in the Pissarro family as well as the first of her generation to become an artist. Born in Epping, England in 1893, she lived and worked predominantly in London where she became a prominent member of several British arts clubs and societies. She first learned to paint in the Impressionist style of her father, but after a brief period of formal study with Walter Sickert in 1913 she renounced formal art schooling. Throughout her career, Orovida always remained outside of any mainstream British art movements. Much to Lucien's disappointment she soon turned away from naturalistic painting and developed her own unusual style combining elements of Japanese, Chinese, Persian and Indian art. Her rejection of Impressionism, which for the Pissarro family had become a way of life, together with the simultaneous decision to drop her famous last name and simply use Orovida as a ‘nom de peintre’, reflected a deep desire for independence and distance from the weight of the family legacy. Orovida's most distinctive and notable works were produced from the period of 1919 to 1939 using her own homemade egg tempera applied in thin, delicate washes to silk, linen or paper and sometimes embellished with brocade borders. These elegant and richly decorative works generally depict Eastern, Asian and African subjects, such as Mongolian horse...

Lilacs
Located in Sag Harbor, NY
A traditional still life of lilacs in the foreground is met with an impressionistic view of the landscape and sky out the window. set inside a neutral toned room; a round wooden table holds up a glass pitcher abundant with lilac blossoms. A beautiful summer vista of a cloud speckled sky, a winding sea, and lush treetops allow the indoor viewer to experience the glory of the day. The subject matter, flowers, clouds and water, is reminiscent of Monet. Framed dimensions: 43 x 47 inches Artist Bio: Viktor Butko was born in 1978 in Moscow, into a family of artists. He often visited the studio of his grandfather, the famous artist Victor Chulovich, and watched the creation of paintings. As you may imagine, this has inspired him to start painting. Viktor’s first steps in art were directed by his grandfather and his parents, artists Nickolay Butko and Marina Chulovich, he then studied at the Moscow Art School, which is known for a high level of training. After completing his training at the art school, Butko painted at the Academic Dacha of Artists, created by the great Russian artist Ilya Repin for students of the Academy of Fine Arts. There he worked under the guidance of famous artists Alexey Gritsay and Tkachev brothers, which had a big impact on his creativity. Viktor’s first solo show was held in the United States, in 2002 at the McCarthey Gallery, one of the foremost dealers in the United States for Russian Impressionist art. This marked the beginning of a long cooperation with the gallery. Later, in 2016, He took part in an international plein air event, which was organized by American painter Ben Fenske and art dealer Laura Grenning. As a result of this Russian-American Painting Alliance a large exhibition was held in the Grenning Gallery...

Located in Denver, CO
Derek Harrison's (US based) "Sam" is an oil painting that depicts a nude female model with pink hair and shaved sides. "Sam" is a secondary market work with one previous owner. Artist Biography: Derek Harrison has worked as an artist almost all of his life. It all began with experimental art in various mediums. These ranged from watercolor to spray paint, tattooing, illustration and eventually to oil painting. A full spectrum of mediums experimented with as an artist beginning to learn his craft. In early 2010 Derek began taking workshops with very accomplished painters. This exposure opened his eyes and mind to what the possibilities are in the fine art world. After a very short amount of time, Derek began to take an extreme interest in classical/traditional art. This interest would lead him to study at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art. After formal training, many classes and workshops outside of the school and a very important session of weekly classes with artist Jeremy Lipking, Derek Harrison has become one of the most exciting new talents in the field of representational painting. He has shown in galleries all over California and as distant as Amsterdam. His paintings sit in many collections across the country including musician Richie Sambora...
