The artist studied calligraphy in Japan. In 2004 he moved to New York where he began painting abstract works of acrylic on canvas. Since 2009, Takefumi has been making gold and colored abstract works. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn where he is surrounded by the hustle and bustle of everyday urban life. The energy of New York City is an inspiration. His use of gold as a main material came about after long and intensive experiments.
