By Guy Arnoux

Located in Spokane, WA

Les Vins de Bourgogne de Henri de Bahèzre - Nuits-St. Georges Original Vintage French Wine Poster by Guy Arnoux, c. 1916 Linen-backed. This wine poster is one of the earliest zinc lithographs. The poster does have a printer's mark or flaw above and on the man's leg. This was done at the time of printing. This is the only issue that keeps the poster from being graded A. Great colors, linen-backed, and otherwise excellent condition. This rare and exquisite original vintage poster, created by renowned French artist Guy Arnoux around 1916, stands as a true testament to Burgundy's rich winemaking heritage. Made to promote the distinguished wines of Henri de Bahèzre, this poster is a highly sought-after piece for serious collectors of wine memorabilia...

Original 1898 lithography entitled "Le Concert" by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec

By Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec

Located in PARIS, FR

The original 1898 lithography entitled "Le Concert" by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec is a work of great artistic finesse, capturing both the artist's distinctive style and the elegant scene of society at the time. This lithograph features a well-dressed, wealthy couple in a red theater box. The gentleman is Gabriel Tapié de Céleyran and the lady is Émilienne d'Alençon. The woman is dressed in fur and wears an elaborate black hat, exuding undeniable elegance and sophistication. Lautrec meticulously captures the details of their clothing and expressions, creating a striking depiction of 19th-century high society. This lithograph was commissioned from Toulouse-Lautrec by Ault and Wiborg, American manufacturers of lithographic ink. It was part of a limited edition printed in Paris, with the original zinc plates subsequently shipped to America for printing in the main edition. The four original zinc plates are now housed at the Art Institute of Chicago. This work is all the more remarkable as it is believed to be the only lithograph Lautrec...

Leon Bakst Three Costume designs from Le Dieu Bleu Ballet 1911

By Leon Bakst

Located in Paonia, CO

Three iconic Leon Bakst costume designs for Le Dieu Bleu ( The Blue God ) a ballet choreographed by Michel Fokine and written by Cocteau. The ballet premiered in Paris in 1912. It tells the story of a girl who tries to dissuade her fiancé from becoming a priest and is thereafter tormented by demons; but she is eventually saved by the Blue God, a part performed by Vaslaw Nijinsky, the greatest male dancer of his time. Fokine’s choreography and Bakst’s costumes drew upon Siamese dance and Hindu sculpture. These three prints are vintage reproductions quite unlike the reproductions of today. They each have the look of original watercolors and are backed on heavy grey rag paper with a hand painted gold border. Properly framed they will definitely look like the original drawing. The size of the actual prints varies slightly but the background paper size is consistently 10.5 x 15.5. Born in Russia in 1866, Léon Bakst belonged to a young generation of European artists who rebelled against 19th-century stage realism, sparking a revolution in theatre design. His fame lay in the sets and costumes he designed for Serge Diaghilev’s (1872 – 1929) legendary dance company the Ballets Russes, and his huge pageant spectaculars for the dancer and patron of the performing arts, Ida Rubinstein...

Large scale French society portrait from the 1920s featuring a lady in a 'flapper' dress before a castle and it's garden by Georges Gaudy. Signed bottom left and dated, 1925. The painting is by repute of La Comtesse de Blacas, in front of her home Château d'Ussé. Ussé was the subject of a French railroad poster issued by the Chemin de Fer de Paris à Orléans in the 1920s which may have been designed by Gaudy and this may be where the commission for this painting came about. Presented in very fine custom carved wood, gilt Florentine frame. The early 1900s were the zenith of 20th century society portraiture by the likes of Philip de László...

CARLSBERG PILSNER, artist: Carsten Ravn. This professional archival linen-backed lithograph is ready to frame. Carlsberg is synonymous with quality and tradition in the brewing world. Condition A-. Touched-up pin holes in the four corners. Minor touch-up near the bottom left crown emblem. Green is more of an old army green, and lettering is natural, unbleached, tan colored. Carlsberg Pilsner DRINK ALL YEAR ROUND The horizontal poster shows four scenes of people enjoying their beer: a skier, a cycling woman, a dandy, and a hunter. Above them is the inscription “Carlsberg Pilsner“ and below it “DRIKKES AARET RUNDT.” The latter makes it clear that you can drink it all year round. The four scenes also show the four seasons and that you can always drink Carlsberg Pilsner. (Text is in Danish). Carlsberg’s first brewery was just outside Copenhagen and was opened in 1847. However, it wasn't until 1904 that Carlsberg pilsner is brewed for the first time This 1908 poster...
