TREE SERIES: BLUE TREES, NIGHT dramatric abstract landscape trees
Located in Palm Desert, CA
The moon shining in a luminous blue night illuminates two trees in a flowing, lyrical and sinewy relationship. The interpretive landscape has a dream-like quality and is inspired by a landscape Jacobson encountered in North Yorkshire, England. Jacobson creates her paintings with many layers of acrylic paint on canvas, giving her work a luminous and translucent quality. The vivid, saturated, jewel-like colors and strong compositional elements express the spiritual essence of nature. On gallery wrapped canvas. Linda Jacobson's paintings are lyrical abstractions inspired by her love of landscape and its elements: form, movement, light, and what she perceives to be its essenc an energy or quality that goes beyond visual appearance. Born in Los Angeles, she received her BFA from California State College, Northridge, and graduated Summa cum Laude from the prestigious Art Center College of Design where she was mentored by pioneer California modernist Lorser Feitelson. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout the United States and abroad, including MRG Fine Art, in Los Angeles; Gallerie Rohling, Berlin, Germany; California State University Channel Islands in Ventura; Karpeles Museum in Santa Barbara, California; BG Gallery in Santa Monica; George Lawson...

REFLECTIONS AT NIGHT, SANTORINI landscape abstract water
Located in Palm Desert, CA
For over a decade, Santorini has inspired Jacobson with its magical beauty and radiance. Many believe Santorini to be the location of the lost city of Atlantis. This painting expresses the eternal stillness, beauty and mystery of the island at night. The glittering lights of the villages crest the tops of the island and the reflections of the light shimmer on the dark turquoise waters of the Caldera. Jacobson creates her paintings with many layers of acrylic paint on canvas, giving her work a luminous and translucent quality. The vivid, saturated, jewel-like colors and strong compositional elements express the spiritual essence of nature. On gallery wrapped canvas. Linda Jacobson's paintings are lyrical abstractions inspired by her love of landscape and its elements: form, movement, light, and what she perceives to be its essence an energy or quality that goes beyond visual appearance. oil on panel MARTHA MANS A master realist painter, she was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she attended Carlow University and received a degree in art and art education. Later she studied art at the Maryland Institute College of Art and the University of Southern California. At the beginning of her career she worked as an art teacher and art department head in Maryland and California. After becoming a full-time artist she taught watercolor and oil painting workshops in the United States and abroad. After moving to Colorado she became a master instructor for a branch of the Art Student’s League in Colorado Springs and then set up her own classes in her studio where she presently teaches on a weekly basis. She was director for many years of large adventure workshops combining painting and exploring. Some of these adventures include Ghost Ranch, New Mexico, where Georgia O’Keefe painted, a yearly excursion on a Clipper Ship in the Caribbean and Mediterranean Seas stopping at many ports to paint and an exciting workshop in Salvador, Brazil, painting the colorful region and people there. It was due to these painting trips on which the artists had to carry around all their painting equipment that she put together a compact painting travel kit that she marketed and that many plein air artists use as they travel to their many painting locations. Martha’s work has been featured in many art publications such as: Southwest Art Magazine, Artist’s Magazine, Watercolor Artist’s Magazine and Art Collector’s Magazine. Her work has been used in several books on painting; “Making Your Watercolors Look Professional,” by Carole Katchen, The Best of Watercolor Series, Rockport, Press, “How to Paint Better Watercolor Paintings,” by Jerald Brommer and Jerald Brommer’s Art Education Posters for High Schools. Her work has received many awards in national juried competitions including numerous best of shows awards. Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, New Mexico Watercolor Society, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Rocky Mountain Watercolor Society, Pikes Peak Watercolor...

Lightning/Cotton Field, limited edition photograph, archival, signed The adrenaline of seeing Mother Nature during some of her finest moments will be ingrained in me forever. It is a humbling experience - and I feel fortunate to have witnessed her power and grandeur over the past 12 years. My experiences are hard to describe in words During this last trip (July 2021) we traveled over 6400 miles in 10 days crossing through 10 different states - all in my quest/passion to photograph these storm systems. But this time the events of the last year made me more aware, opened my eyes wider, and had a different effect on me. The effects of Climate Change have become obvious. The current patterns are changing and they are accelerating faster than anyone realized or predicted. Just over the past decade, the characteristics of the Jet Stream and the Gulf Stream...

MOUNTAINSCAPE #4
Located in Palm Desert, CA
The Mountainscape series has been inspired by Jacobsons stay in the Alpes-Maritime in a small medieval village, Fanghetto, on the Italian/French border. The colors are soft, flowing and ethereal, creating a feeling of harmony, and a sanctuary for healing. Jacobson creates her paintings with many layers of acrylic paint on canvas, giving her work a luminous and translucent quality. The pastel colors and flowing compositional elements express the spiritual essence of nature. Mountainscape #4 is a mixed-media painting of oil paint over acrylic washes on gallery wrapped linen canvas. Linda Jacobson's paintings are lyrical abstractions inspired by her love of landscape and its elements: form, movement, light, and what she perceives to be its essence an energy or quality that goes beyond visual appearance.

Drifting Glo landscape clouds colorful
Located in Palm Desert, CA
The light of the setting sun reflects atmospheric particles, creating vivid color, a reminder of nature's power. Oil on gallery wrapped linen with hand painted edges. Wired for installation with finger-friendly coated wire. From the artist: As a painter, I seek moments of breath-taking transition in nature; a gathering of clouds or changing tides; times when the elements of the landscape combine with the alchemy of imagination to illuminate the world of heightened mood and sensation. My paintings aim to capture these fleeting moments in time and reveal the serene center that can arise in the midst of nature's turbulence. A childhood of moving and traveling around the United States has shaped Katherine Kean's vision, as have journeys to eastern Africa, Mexico, Scotland, France and painting jaunts all over Kean's now native California. Born in West Virginia, moving later to Ohio and New Jersey, but growing up mainly in Massachusetts, she attended Rhode Island School of Design, graduating with a BFA in Film, Video and Animation. Long fascinated by the intersection of order and chaos in the natural world, Katherine Kean skillfully uses observation, memory, and interpretation to translate her love of nature's kinetic phenomena into paintings that capture the often turbulent emotions within light, weather, and landscapes. Her work has exhibited in museums and galleries across the United States, including the LACMA Art Rental and Sales Gallery and the Brand Library Art Gallery in Los Angeles...
