Meticulously rendered stone archways lead to a marsh complete with water birds in Carol Pylant's stunning architectural painting entitled "La Scomparsa". The pristine space suggest inner solitude and peace. This calm continues through the archway and into the misty landscape beyond the walls tricking the viewer into questioning what exactly they are observing. The artist often combines imagery from her travels to Italy, Spain and throughout Europe with memories of her childhood home in North Carolina.
