Antique Copper Mirrors

Bronze mirrors preceded the glass mirrors of today. Sometimes termed a copper mirror, they have been found by archaeologists in various cultures, from Etruscan Italy to Japan.

This kakebutu circular disc is replaced by a copper mirror from the Han Dynasty (circa 3rd century BC) in China.

I like it so much we have it on 24 hours in our showroom window. The casing is all copper with brass fittings. Inside there are 32 mirrors in 2 consecutive rings and angles.

We have a nice collection of these original and unique mercury glass pendants. The inside is mirrored and the outside has a copper plating that has a Verdigris patina finish.
