The composition is well treated and each bird hand painted. The stones around the well and the tree trunk with three birds resting are well done.

Most pieces are marked J. Massier. Massier did not become popular with American collectors until the 1970s and it has been gaining in value ever since.

This piece is in excellent condition, signed Jerome Massier (1850-1916) and stamped Vallauris, France.
