Add all of your inventory. We can’t sell what we don’t have on the marketplace. Even with the expansive range of offerings available on 1stDibs, we know that potential buyers who are looking for that unique one-of-a-kind piece need a range of prices and a variety of colors, sizes and styles from which to choose. When a seller lists more of their inventory on 1stDibs, they’re better positioned to take advantage of the tools and features that the platform provides, which make it easy to recommend an additional piece to a buyer, upsell when a seller lists a complementary piece a month later and more. Even for the platform’s new and custom makers, who typically have a smaller collection on offer, we encourage you to list all the possible variations of a piece to improve the likelihood of attracting greater interest.

Price competitively from the beginning. Boosting your list price to “see what you can get” or leaving a large range for negotiations will likely scare off a potential customer. Because your competition is just a click away, if your price seems inflated compared to others on 1stDibs or other sites, a buyer is less likely to click on your listing to learn more about your piece and they will never know how it stands out from other items.

Respond promptly and professionally to all potential buyer inquiries.
