The initial idea for the Aro Mirror came during the social project “Mãos em Ação” (“Hands in Action”), a realization of Instituto Campana in partnership with Ôda Design Club, produced by Consuelo Cornelsen and mentoring by Humberto Campana. Later developed, Aro Mirror has a thick round-section solid wooden frame forming a circle or an ellipse. Embedded to it is the mirrored surface. Each side edge of the frame receives a solid metal sphere that can be used as a hanger. This exquisite artisan mirror is handmade and hand silvered in Italy - a sculptural work of art, grand and impressive in scale and and comes in a variety of vintage glass colors from the 1950s. Since each mirror is meticulously hand-crafted including silvering, there are subtle variations inherent in the handmade process. The green color of this mirror is an extraordinary soft vintage green shade of Murano glass no longer seen these days with more recently produced green glass.
