After graduating I did everything I could to wrangle assignments to cover two of the biggest international endurance races held annually in Florida. The Daytona 24-Hour and Sebring 12-Hour races were the highlight of my early years as a photographer. Covering racing events in the Sixties was a lot different from what it is today. Access to the racers and the cars was much easier and there were far fewer photographers covering any event. As a fan and a photojournalist in search of a great story, I usually hung around Carroll Shelby’s pit. Shelby and his Cobras were always race winning contenders. “Shel” was easy to work with and to be around. He let me do what I wanted and go where I pleased to capture a story. He was a consultant to Kodak for digital imaging for a number of years. He has lectured at Boston University, Brooks Institute of Photography, Hallmark Institute of Photography, ASMP, NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, PhotoExpos in Los Angeles & New York. He has given workshops at Dawson College (Montreal), ICP (NYC), Kauai Photographic (Hawaii), the Maine Workshops, the Missouri Workshops, Palm Beach Photographic Workshops, Santa Fe Workshops & his own studio in New York City.
