We are pleased to sell works on behalf of Andrew Francis. Andrew is based in West Wales. He has been a full-time artist since 2009, following a career in the graphic arts. He works mostly in landscape painting and uses a variety of media, from acrylic and oil to collage and found materials. His subject matter is Wales and the west country, particularly his home county of Ceredigion.
Artist Statement:
“I am exploring the balance between representational and emotional depictions of landscape. The ideal is to be perfectly placed between images that are a factual record of natural environment as it appears in the early 21st century and the awe and reverence we experience when we observe it. Wales is the perfect place to explore this relationship because “landscape”, be it grand or intimate, is both abundant and inspiring.
