These exceptional antique George III sterling silver sauce tureens have a plain rectangular rounded form. The body of each tureen is plain and embellished with an applied gadroon decorated border to the lower portion and upper rim. These impressive silver tureens retain the original hallmarked push fit covers ornamented with further applied gadroon decoration to the upper plateau in addition to the base of the impressive reed decorated handle enveloped with leaf designs to the terminals. The surface of each cover is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a falcon holding a partridge between her feet and encompassed with the belted motto 'Qui potest capere capiat', Let him who can take, take. This magnificent antique George IV English sterling silver soup tureen has an oval rounded form. The lower portion of the body is encompassed with impressive chased fluted decoration in a subtle swirl design. The decoration to the body incorporates an impressive scrolling leaf bordered cartouche to either side, each displaying an exceptional contemporary bright cut engraved marital coat of arms* depicting on the dexter a chevron between three crosses paty and the sinister a quadrangular castle. The coat of arms is surmounted with a bright cut engraved crest displaying a tent adorned or lined charged in the interior with a cross paty of the third. A fine and impressive antique Edwardian English sterling silver soup tureen; an addition to our silver dining collection This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver soup tureen has a plain oval shaped form onto a plain oval domed spreading foot. The surface of this piece is embellished with a bright cut engraved crest of on a chapeau turned up a lion rampant supporting an arrow palewise feathered and headed to one side. This antique silver soup tureen retains the original hallmarked push fit cover, surmounted with the original hallmarked detachable shaped scrolling handle with acanthus leaf decoration. The antique silver soup tureen is fitted with thread decorated loop handles with acanthus leaf terminals. Condition This antique silver soup tureen is an excellent gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition. This piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body have wear in keeping with age and location, but all remain legible.
