Achille Castiglioni with Trac re-enacts the notion of folding table, experimenting with his workhorse: the redesign of anonymous objects that have survived use and time and can be enhanced with minimal modifications. With a modernity that is ahead of his time, he experiments with concepts such as multifunctionality, transformability, mobility. Lightweight, square in shape, Trac has simple, elegant folding legs and refined joints that are easy to manoeuvre. Ideal for storage once folded.
Achille Castiglioni, son of the sculptor Giannino and Livia Bolla, he graduated from the Milan Polytechnic in 1944; after graduating he worked in the studio of the older brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo in Milan, devoting himself to urban planning, architecture, exhibitions and product design projects. In 1944, together with his brothers, he took part in the VII Triennale di Milano. Achille Castiglioni's design has always been based on a search for functionality, also through the functional reuse of objects already present in production. In 1956 he was one of the founders of ADI, the Association for Industrial Design.
