These are a very decorative and unusual PAIR of Large Earthenware Vases with oriental figure scenes, made by Bretby Ceramics, England, Circa 1914.
The vases are 15 inches tall and are hexagonal in profile, featuring scenes of crane birds, and hunters, observed by oriental ladies (Japanese geishas?) from their balcony.
There is a key border pattern to the neck and a motif pattern to the base rim. The decoration is relief moulded with the base colour being a creamy light buff of varying shades with hand applied browns and darker browns to black.
