Set of three Italian Murano glass standing swan bird sculptures crafted during the nineteen seventies showcases elegant Venetian animalier fine art design by Cenedese. Handcrafted in Italy, each matching avian figure is modeled in a dynamic upright posture, poised upon an organic frost-white water-mound base with its webbed feet planted and wings outstretched in mid-flutter. With long, gracefully curved necks and poised, sculpted bills, this cohesive trio captures the regal movement of aquatic wildlife with fluid sculptural precision.
Master glassmakers at Cenedese shaped each solid figure freehand at the furnace (a massello / a mano volante) using complex internal sommerso layering. The cores are infused with soft pastel blush-pink and deep rose hues that blush through the breast and neck, transitioning into subtly smoked charcoal-gray tones along the slender heads and bills. Hand-modeled clear wings with serrated feather tips flank each rounded body. The entire exterior is finished in an acid-etched satin frosting (vetro satinato / corroso), giving the crystalline glass a velvety, luminous tactile surface. Under ambient natural light or focused gallery spotlights, the frosted surface diffuses illumination into an ethereal blush halo, casting soft specular highlights and graceful silhouettes across display planes.
