Daisy A. Newell Kearns was born in California on May 6, 1873. The Newell family moved to Moscow, Minnesota, when Daisy was an infant. By 1910, she was the wife of William F. Kearns and was living on a farm in Moscow, Minnesota. By the 1930s, she had settled in Laguna Beach. Daisy was a well-known figure in the Laguna Beach art scene for many years.
