Artist Comments
An ethereal abstract landscape evoking water rushing over stone. Artist DL Watson says the painting was initially inspired by the song of the same name, and she built up the texture of the work with her palette knives. Cool blues, earthy greys and whites, and defining areas of metallic pigment.
About the Artist
DL Watson creates semi-abstract paintings with floral and botanical references. Splitting her time between Florida and Oregon, she finds inspiration in the patterns that repeat themselves throughout the natural world. While her paintings are often grounded in her own childhood memories and past experiences, they evoke a beauty that is universal in their natural subject matter. She creates interest and intrigue through the color and movement that she uses to balance her composition.
