This is a good quality coffee can that we attribute to the Coalport Porcelain works, Shropshire, England, made during the John Rose period of the George 111rd years, circa 1805-1810. The coffee can is nominally parallel, tapering slightly to the base, with a simple loop handle with one lower kink and pointed attachments. It has a shallow foot recess with obtuse corner and is unmarked to the base. The pattern is beautifully hand painted in an all gold gilt floral upper border pattern with further gilding on the body above the base rim, around the upper rim and to the outer handle. We date this piece to the late George third...

A delightful pair of patinated bronze statuettes, originally candelabra, after Clodion (Claude Michel Clodion 1738 – 1814), depicting a young satyr and satyress. Mounted on truncated columns of fluted white marble, and marked with the Clodion signature (of questionable authenticity) these figurines now show no trace of the original candelabra screw fixtures. The original models for these figurines are attributed to Clodion (for the young satyr) and to Louis Felix de la Rue...

The sculptures portray young women in animated, dance-like postures, wearing flowing dress that recalls Greek wet drapery. One figure holds a musical instrument, while the other spreads her arms as if to music. The figures stand on integral rocky bases above matching marble plinths. Each piece is affixed with a plaque, one reading ‘Libellule par Geo Maxim...
