Gregory Hennen, b. 1962
Hennen’s work is inspired by his extensive time spent in nature where he makes detailed field drawings and watercolors in preparation for complex oil paintings created in the studio. His meticulous paintings are influenced by sources as wide-ranging as The Hudson River School painters, Japanese wood block prints and Gustav Klimt. Gregory Hennen earned his BFA, Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic, CT and attended the graduate program at the School of Visual Arts, New York, NY. His work is in the public collections of Pfizer Inc., Greenwich Public Library, Greenwich, CT and in numerous private collections. The artist has been represented by Kenise Barnes Fine Art, Kent, CT since 2002. He lives and works in Virginia.to
