Hong Kong-based fine jewelry house HYT Jewelry specializes in jewelry with stunning fancy-colored diamonds and lush green Colombian emeralds. The brand’s striking contemporary adornments are typically characterized by understated settings and designs so as not to detract from the natural beauty of the stones.
HYT Jewelry launched in 2015 to transform an existing gemstone supplier into a luxury jewelry house. The founder and managing director, Yash Khinduka, is a gemologist and third-generation diamantaire who has been immersed in the diamond and jewelry industry since his childhood. In order to create the HYT brand and quickly grow it into a global company, Khinduka relied on his decades of expertise in emeralds and colored diamonds.
Khinduka talked to 1stDibs about pink diamonds, for example, which are ideal for engagement rings. “The light pink shades represent softness, and the darker shades represent passion,” reported Khinduka.
Pink diamonds account for just 0.03 percent of annual global diamond production, so finding an example weighing one carat or more is “not easy in the range of fancy pink and stronger hues,” Khinduka said, adding, “Pear and cushion shapes are the most popular cuts for pink diamonds, while rounds are quite rare.”
