Kamil Lisek was born in Poland in 1980 and studied under the guidance of professor Maciej Świeszewski at the faculty of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Lisek graduated with distinction obtaining scholarships from both the Ministry of Culture and the Mayor of the city of Gdańsk. In 2006, he won the Grand Prix (ex-aequo) of the Franciszka Eibisch Foundation.
