Beautiful original oval-shaped T22 coffee table designed by Pierre Chapo: The table consist of three individual parts, with can be separated as per images. As with all furniture by Chapo, this piece shows excellent craftsmanship, is constructed in solid wood and was made to last. French elmwood is due to the Dutch elm disease extremely rare to find these days, and recent editions are generally made of oak or imported elmwood which have a completely different appearance compared to the warm, vintage look that an aged Chapo piece provides. A 1960s model "S10", also known as a "Sahara" chair, by the leading French modernist designer of the period, Pierre Chapo, whose work is highly sought after today. Produced in solid elm and highest quality saddle leather, the structure is held together by the tension of the leather seat on the frame. The chair features the "48x72" assembly technique which is present in many of Chapo's designs and whilst this shows complexity it contrasts with the simplistic overall design and a frame that can even be dismantled. This piece is in very nice condition, the frames show only minor signs of wear and the leather has been entirely replaced with the highest quality Belgium hide by an expert leather craftsman...
