Potchi Moopp, a trailblazing Japanese artist, is redefining the intersection of fine art and manga through her visually arresting works. Moopp, a young talent, is deeply influenced by the immersive environments of virtual worlds, seamlessly integrating these elements into her artistic expression. Her art is characterized by a unique motif: Crazy Mushrooms, a playful homage to the globally beloved video game Super Mario Bros, reflecting the impact of digital culture on contemporary art. Her style resonates with American Pop Surrealism, as she draws from a palette of themes that echo her generation's affinity for virtual and fantasy realms. In Japan, where traditionally, there's a clear demarcation between fine art and comics, Moopp stands as a pioneering figure. She bridges this divide, gaining recognition and admiration from enthusiasts and critics in both spheres. Her approach represents a growing trend among new-generation artists who challenge and blur the conventional lines in the art world. Moopp’s creative process is guided by intuition rather than deliberation, allowing her to channel her instincts into her art. While her work initially appears to be filled with joy and whimsy, a closer look reveals layers of complexity and a subtle undercurrent of aggression, mirroring her personal struggles and societal observations. Embracing her identity as an avatar of the digital age, Moopp often includes representations of herself reminiscent of virtual characters. This deliberate choice highlights her connection to a generation that finds comfort and identity in the digital landscape. Her ability to amalgamate the realms of fine art and comics, once seen as distinct and unconnected, is a testament to the changing dynamics in the art world, breaking barriers and setting new precedents. In her art, Moopp does not just blend digital and traditional mediums; she reflects the evolving cultural tapestry where boundaries are fluid, and the fusion of disparate elements creates a rich, multilayered narrative. Her works are a celebration of this new era of artistic exploration, where the unexpected combination of various influences adds depth and intrigue. Potchi Moopp's journey in the art world is a compelling narrative of innovation and defiance of norms. Her work is not just a visual feast but a commentary on the shifting paradigms in art and culture, symbolizing the limitless potential of creativity in the digital era. As she continues to evolve and expand her artistic horizon, Moopp is poised to leave an indelible mark on the global art scene, inspiring a generation of artists to explore beyond the conventional and embrace the myriad possibilities of artistic expression.

Homemade Hermes Birkin Bag ( Kelly Green ) 2015 by Shelter Serra
By Shelter Serra
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Homemade Hermes Birkin Bag ( Kelly Green ) 2015, 15”x14.5”x1.5” inches unframed, 18.75 "x 18.75 x 2.5 framed Cast Resin, Edition of 15 Also available in Pink, White, Gold and Silver. The frame is a white shadow box frame with plexiglass. The Homemade Hermes Birkin Bag is a sculpture that celebrates the beauty, and status, that the docents of fashion have bestowed upon coveted objects and accessories as such. In a Duchampian gesture of representation, the artist has created an object that has been “elevated to uselessness”, yet reveals much about our society’s infatuation with consumption and materialism. Cast in resin the sculpture becomes an apropos trope of our time, a perfect conversation starter. Shelter Serra’s paintings, sculptures, and drawings explore mass consumption and cultural identity. He juxtaposes subject matters that are both common and recognizable: a Campbell's Soup Can, a copper plated baseball hat, and a Hermes Birkin bag...
