Rene Revaute
Rene Revaute was born in Nice, France, in 1895, owned an art gallery in the port area and created numerous modern works of art. He was reportedly friends with Auguste Herbin and Marcel Gromaire both of whom attended the École de Matisse in Le Cateau-Cambrésis. All three of these fantastic artists painted Post Impressionist, Cubic and Abstract wonders. Revaute did not receive the acclaim of his peers. Yet, he enjoyed great success on a local level in his beloved region of the French Riviera, otherwise known as the Côte d'Azur. The influential, magnificent colors of Nice can be seen in his paintings. He moved to the USA and died in Lenox, Massachusetts, in 1992.
