Renelio Marin (b. 1970, Havana, Cuba) graduated from San Alejandro School of Fine Arts in Havana in 1993. He went on to receive a B.A. in Studio Art from Hunter College of the City University of New York in 2009 and an M.A. in Media, Culture and Communication from New York University in 2011. Renelio's personality and his work are bi-cultural, split between two main trains of thought. The first is based on spontaneous drawing, depicting conflicts in cultural adaptation; the other expresses the influence of Western culture on different political systems. His drawings and paintings evoke the many moods of New York and Havana’s streets – from quiet and sultry to pulsating with action. Marin has been featured in group and solo exhibitions, among many others, "Latin American Art Biennial" Gordon Parks Gallery, Bronx, New York (2010); “One Man Show” Havana Libre Gallery, Cuba; “Pensacola Museum of Fine Arts.” Pensacola, Florida (2003) and "Art Without Borders”, Santa Fe Museum of Fine Arts, Santa Fe, NM (1998.)
