"I Rise by Lifting Others" Colorful Abstract Butterfly Painting Acrylic Canvas
By Ash Almonte
Located in New York, NY
The Butterfly series for Ash began as a sentiment to her late Father. Butterflies began to appear in unexplainable ways after his passing, the artist later discovered that Butterflies represent spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope, and life - she goes on to say: "The butterfly series draws inspiration from Rivera's quote 'Butterflies can't see their wings. They can't see how truly beautiful they are, but everyone else can.'" After coming to the fruition that Butterflies pose as not only a symbol for beauty and rebirth, Almonte felt a feeling of deep comfort. Her passion for sharing this message of hope and renewal through her colorfully diverse canvases is achieved with resilience leaving her audience glimmering much like the inner voice and the spark of Joie de vivre that fuels her purpose in life to create. This piece is painted on thick gallery wrap canvas and is signed lower right and on verso, it comes with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed. Art measures 36 x 36 inches Inspired by vibrance and an optimistic outlook on life, Ash Almonte is recognized for her distinct abstract expressionistic style. She is best known for her series of Chandeliers, Butterflies, and Fashion from the Seventh Avenue Design District. Almonte's award-winning works can be found in private and permanent collections around the world. She is motivated by change, compassion for others, and miraculous phenomena that can impact others for good. Her flair and admiration for fashion and art have been a staple of her life since childhood. As a young girl, she would experiment using anything she could find to make art; from tearing apart bushel baskets at her father’s fruit stand, to tearing out old magazine clippings from her mother's magazine collection; anything and everything around her could potentially be used to create. She would continue to seek out opportunities throughout her young adult years, as her love for fashion grew, allowing her to collaborate with celebrity stylists creating looks for top billboard artists, as well as apparel worn at New York Fashion Week for designers Sherri Hill...

Finally Friday - Original Bold Delightful Figurative Painting
By Gerdine Duijsens
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Gerdine Duijsens’ spirited and evocative figures are instantly recognizable and unforgettable. Through lush, bold colors and energetic marks, her paintings emit a sense of pleasure and contentment. Their candid nature brings delight into the rooms in which they hang. Enjoyment is at the heart of her figurative artworks, and the people she creates are always savoring the moment. We can’t help but be charmed by their lust for life. This one-of-a-kind 39 inch square artwork is stretched, wired and ready to hang. Duijsen's painting includes wonderful textures created with an intriguing balance of bold, colorful brush strokes and thin black lines, adding a distinct character to the people and their surroundings. She captures the essence of each figure though her abstract treatment of the artwork. The sides of this unique artwork are painted black. It does not require framing. Gerdine signs her paintings on the bottom in black, blending the signature with her captivating brushwork. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Gerdine Duijsens was born in Utrecht, Netherlands, and studied at the Art Academy and the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium. The work of Gerdine Duijsens is a synthesis between figurative and abstract art. In their unguarded moments, Gerdine displays her characters with a slight derision as their vulnerable and insecure selves, when in their seemingly unobserved moments they briefly try to escape from a world in which status, knowledge, protocols and power keep them prisoner. Her people are "bon-vivants," somewhat blasé, comical, cheerful, and bored. The partying, dining, happy single, and Botox paintings have become Gerdine's trademarks and have generated a steadily growing club of collectors internationally. We recognize the people on the canvasses, they're our families, they're our friends, they're us. They move us and make us laugh. We love them and want to have them with us. We want them with us because they make us happy. Der unerwartete Besuch / The Unexpected Visit
By Robert Hammerstiel
Located in Wien, 9
Born in 1933 into a Banat German family from Yugoslavia, Hammerstiel learned the harshness of life in a brutal way at a young age: together with his mother and brother, he was interned in various camps for three years. In 1947 they managed to escape to Austria where Hammerstiel worked in steelworks in Ternitz. Adversely affected by adverse working conditions, he moved to the archive office there at the end of the 1970s. Like his father, who worked as an icon painter in addition to his profession as a baker, Hammerstiel drew and painted on an audio-didactic basis and primarily to come to terms with his traumatic experiences. In the form of various art seminars organised by the trade union federation, over a period of about ten years, he succeeded in developing his artistic skills and learning new techniques. His teachers at the time included Gerda Matejka-Felden, Gerhard and August Swoboda, as well as Robert Schmidt, who introduced Hammerstiel to the art of woodcutting. At the beginning of the 1970s, he approached biblical themes with his newly acquired technique. Since 1972 Hammerstiel has exhibited his works at numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad. In 1985 he was awarded the title of professor by the then Austrian Federal President. The year 1988 marked a significant turning point in the artist's life: on the one hand, Hammerstiel took early retirement and, on the other, after a stay in New York, he turned to the painting style of Pop Art. This was accompanied by a new use of bright colours and a drastic reduction to the essential. The completely anonymous depiction of people in the paintings was particularly influential in this new creative period. From this time on, study trips took him to the most diverse countries in the world. In 2006 the Ringturm in Vienna was completely covered with four murals by Hammerstiel. Three years later, an exhibition focusing on the artist's graphic work was shown at the Leopold Museum. As a highlight, Hammerstiel's cycle of works entitled "Winterreise" from the 1990s was shown, which was created in reference to the song cycle of the same name by Franz Schubert...
