This item is an antique / vintage silver-plated and cut-crystal epergne, a highly decorative table centerpiece traditionally used for displaying fruits, sweetmeats, or flowers.Key DetailsDesign & Structure: It features an ornate, Rococo-style silvered base supporting a large center bowl and four extending serpentine arms that hold smaller matching dishes.Origin: These pieces are typically of 19th-century English origin, often crafted in the style of Sheffield Silver Plate.Crystal: The glassware consists of hand-cut or lead crystal bowls boasting a brilliant geometric starburst .There is evidence of an old repair at the base of one of the arms, visible as a darker area in the finish. The piece remains structurally sound and fully functional. I replaced the original glass accents with crystal pieces because the previous glass elements did not match properly. The replacement crystals complement the piece well and enhance its overall appearance. I purchased this item from a trusted antique dealer with whom I have worked for many years.
